Grandma's Butter Cookies
Ingredients:

4 sticks unsalted butter
1-3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
6 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder

Strawberry and raspberry jam

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Cream butter and sugar.  Add vanilla.  Add eggs, one at a time.  In separate bowl, mix dry ingredients.  Slowly add to butter mixture until incorporated.

For jelly cookies:

Roll to 1/4" thick.  Cut circles and lay on greased cookie sheet.  Cut second circle, with smaller circle cut out of center.  Spread a small amount of jelly on bottom layer of cookie.  Place dough with center cut out of it on top.  Brush with beaten egg.  Add small dollop of jelly in center.  Bake for 15 minutes.  Cool completely.

For sprinkle cookies:

Roll dough out to 1/4" think.  Cut out shapes and place on greased cookie sheet.  Brush tops with beaten egg.  Sprinkle the top with sprinkles.  Bake at 350 for 12 minutes.
